Angelino’s Coffee Wins Its Ninth #1 Coffee at Mexico COE, Further Expanding a World-Class Collection of Premium Coffees

Angelino’s Wins Two First-Place Top Coffees at Mexico COE Auction in Groundbreaking Coffee Industry Achievement

Los Angeles, CA. August 15, 2024 - Angelino’s Coffee is thrilled to announce a historic milestone with the acquisition of two first-place coffees in this week’s Mexico Cup of Excellence (COE) auction. This achievement marks their 9th first-place win and 13th top coffee purchase of the 2024 season. With these latest additions, Angelino’s has curated a one-of-a-kind world-class coffee collection that sets a new standard in the industry, showcasing the finest coffees from the top celebrated coffee-producing countries.

"I'm absolutely thrilled that we've won nine first place coffees in this year’s COE auctions. It’s not just about winning—it’s about the incredible opportunity to support the hardworking farmers behind these exceptional beans,” said Kirk Bedrossian, founder of Angelino’s. “I’ve been lucky enough to visit some of the farmers behind these extraordinary coffees, seeing their dedication firsthand and getting to know them personally has been a truly rewarding experience. It’s an honor to bring these world-class coffees to our customers and share the remarkable stories behind each cup."

The 1A naturally processed Geisha coffee comes from Las Nieves farm located in the Sierra Madre South Mountains of Oaxaca. This farm has undergone a remarkable transformation since its founding in 1880 and the establishment of a cooperative in 2006. Once a neglected coffee farm, it now thrives through organic farming and regenerative practices that protect the region's biodiversity. Its farmers' focus on sustainable, shade-grown coffee, combined with off-grid energy sources has revitalized a historic coffee-growing region.

The 1A washed Bourbon variety comes from La Perla Farm, located in Veracruz's Coatepec basin. At 1500 meters, this area remained untouched until 2021 when coffee cultivation began on its nutrient-rich soil. Of its 35 hectares, 10 are dedicated to growing Bourbon and experimental varieties and the farm's first harvest in 2023-2024 produced exceptional washed process coffee, winning 1st place in the COE.

The Cup of Excellence (COE), based in Portland, Oregon, holds prestigious coffee competitions in 11 countries to honor top small-lot coffees. These coffees are rigorously evaluated through multiple cupping sessions by both local and international judges. Winning coffees undergo strict testing to ensure their superior quality.

Angelino's Coffee, with over a million customers served, is a family owned company that is revolutionizing the at-home coffee experience, bringing exceptional, award-winning coffees in both single cup and whole bean.
