Winning at the Cup of Excellence competition is a life-changing achievement that elevates farmers, their families, and entire communities. Farmers can earn up to 100 times more for their coffee than the price of lower-grade beans. Recent auctions saw COE-winning coffees selling from $18.30 to $132 per pound, with Ethiopia setting a new all-time record at $445 per pound, the highest price ever paid at an auction for any country. In contrast, commodity coffee typically sells for less than $2 per pound.
