Start With The Bean
There are a few things to look for when picking coffee, starting with where the coffee comes from. From there, it’s important to understand preference. Do you prefer chocolate or fruity flavors? Perhaps, you tend to like earthy, bitter flavors? Typically, these flavor notes will be written on the box you purchase, or your local cafe barista will gladly let you know. This goes along with knowing your roast.
Know Your Roast
Roast is a very key component in deciding which coffee is right for you;it plays a huge role in the flavor of your coffee. Coffee comes in light, medium, dark and extra dark roasts.

Because it retains more of the original coffee characteristics, this taste is very distinct with a more acidic palate. Medium roast coffee is more commonly enjoyed due to its well-rounded flavor profile. You’ll notice that this roast offers a caramel sweetness that is a perfect balance between light and dark roast coffee. Lastly, the dark roast! This roast can be seen as “bittersweet,” meaning, the bold and rich toasty flavor also has hints of decadent chocolate that makes this such a smooth and classic taste. Oftentimes it is even enjoyed without added dairy or creamer.
