Los Angeles Based Roaster Angelino's Wins #1 Coffee at Nicaragua Cup of Excellence with Record-Breaking Bid.
Los Angeles, CA, June 25, 2024 - Angelino’s Coffee is thrilled to announce they have made history at the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence (COE) auction, securing the #1 top Nicaraguan coffee from Los Alpes at a record-breaking $109/lb, along with the prestigious fourth-place coffee. Angelino's Coffee outbid global competitors from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, in a seven-hour auction with over 400 bids. This accomplishment continues to establish Angelino's Coffee as a leader and standout in the industry among elite roasters and traders.

Based in Portland, Oregon, the COE hosts prestigious coffee competitions across 11 countries and aims to discover and reward the finest small-lot coffees. The COE rigorously evaluates these coffees through multiple cupping sessions conducted by local and international jurors, ensuring that winning cups undergo testing at least 120 times.
The Los Alpes farm in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, has once again triumphed in the COE contest with their Geisha variety in natural process, securing first place for the second consecutive year. This achievement speaks volumes about their dedication and passion to produce exceptional coffee year after year.
