And while for some, this might be ideal weather, for many, it's simply unbearable. In all this comes she - a delicious, cold glass of iced tea. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it?
This dream can quickly become a reality - all thanks to your Keurig. Below, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to make iced tea with Keurig as well as some helpful tips. Trust us when we say that brewing a refreshing, flavorful cup of Angelino's iced tea is as easy as 1,2,3!
Tip 1: Depending on the Keurig model you have, you might have the Brew Over Ice setting (it can also be called just Iced). Thanks to this, you don't have to wait for your iced tea base to become chill, as the purpose of this program is to minimize the ice melt. You also don't need to use two cups, as you can simply use the same mug you put ice in.
The brewing starts with hot water to make sure the flavors of the tea K-cup you're using are extracted, and the brewed tea is as flavorful as possible then switches to cool water so that the ice doesn't melt as quickly as it would if you were to pour only hot water into the cup.
Tip 2: Run a water only cycle before brewing your tea pod. This is especially needed if you use coffee pods, as if you don't clean your brewer before using it to make your drink, youe tea might have a coffee aftertaste.
If you want to add a little bit of spice to your iced tea, how about making iced tea lemonade instead of regular iced tea?
The recipe isn't that much different, with the main difference being that you also add 3/4 glass of lemonade into the tea and mix it all together to achieve a delicious glass of Keurig iced tea lemonade.
If you don't have our (or any) tea K-cups on hand, nothing's lost - you can still make delicious iced tea using loose leaf tea or just regular tea bags.
When it comes to leaf tea, it would be perfect if you had a reusable K-cup that you can use to make your own tea pods. However, if you don't, a tea infuser will work just as fine.
How to make iced tea with Keurig and tea bags or loose leaf tea? It’s actually very simple.
What you need to do to achieve a perfect iced tea with your Keurig is simply brew the tea by running a water only cycle on your Keurig brewer. Just use it as you normally would, but don't insert a K-cup into the machine. Once your tea is ready, let it chill for a while, and add a garnish and sweetener of your choice. It's as simple as that!
Technically you can - however, not with a Keurig, as cold brewing tea is a long process that takes at least a few hours. You can use both loose leaf tea and tea bags for this.
First let's talk aboutloose leaf tea. Float the leaves in water and leave it be in room temperature for about half an hour. Then, transfer it into a fridge and leave it there for about eight hours or overnight. In the morning, strain the tea and you're done.
Tea bags are slightly better when it comes to the convenience of brewing tea using cold water. All you have to do is put your tea bag (or bags) into a glass or a pitcher if you want a bigger portion, cover it, and leave in the fridge for a few hours. White and green tea require about 6 to 8 hours while black or oolong tea 8 to 12.
Iced tea can be a blessing on a hot summer day, and if you have tea K-cups, it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes, as you saw in the recipes above.
